Training and Credentials

Dr. Patterson graduated from New York Medical College in 2003 and completed his residency training in adult psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. During residency, he developed a focus on integrating psychiatric care into complicated medical situations.  From 2007 to early 2017, Dr. Patterson developed his expertise in consultation-liaison psychiatry, palliative care, end of life care, life transitions, and psychiatric care in the setting of cancer and HIV.  Dr. Patterson now practices in community settings and offers private evaluation and consultation, medical management, and coordinated care with a client's selected therapist.  His thoughtful psychiatric care incorporates the complex psycho-social, psychiatric, and medical needs of clients.
